Describe your involvement in the Arabian horse breed as a volunteer, and what your accomplishments are:
I have served as a board member of APAHA for the last seven years. I am a Team Horse & Rider contributor and utilize this opportunity to promote the versatility of the Arabian. I have also served on the AHA Sweepstakes Commission for the last five years.
What are some of the highlights and successful moments involving the Arabian horse for you in 2015?
Personally, my highlight was working with such a versatile group of horses and versatile disciplines and their success at a National level in the open and Amateir classes. It’s also been a highlight to see my children Wyatt and Halle succeed at the Youth Nationa level and the joy Arabians have brought to them.
Lastly, when I reflect on the year that American Beautie had in winning four National Championships and two Reserves, I take a great deal of pride in having a horse maintain a high level of excellence over a long career and a family that owns her, who has trusted me and been a great partner along the way. To me, a horseman should develop a horse to not only reach their ultimate potential but also to enjoy their job through the process.
If someone were to describe you, what would they say about you?
Hopefully that I never stop learning and to am open to new ways to improve my training and my horses. Also that I am always happy to help others.
