1.) What are some of the highlights and successful moments in the 2015 show season for you?
I kept Bugsy busy in 2015 between Reining, Showmanship and Horsemanship. We started the year by winning the ATR Half Arabian Reining at Scottsdale along with the Showmanship.
We also had a very successful Region 7 by winning the Half Arabian Reining AOTR, Reining Seat EQ, Western Horsemanship and Showmanship.
Then to Canadian Nationals where we were Reserve National Champion in the Half Arabian Reining, Showmanship and National Champion in the Adult Western Horsemanship.
Lastly, at US Nationals we were Reserve National Champion in the Adult Western Horsemanship and Top Ten in the Reining and Showmanship.
2.) Who has been your biggest influence in the Arabian breed in getting you to where you are today?
I have been with LaRae since I was 10 and I am now 41. She taught me to understand what my horse is doing and how to fix things on my own. I remember her words to me when I was 11…she said I have taught you all you need, a horse show is no different than home….go to the show and use your head. My first show with TE Kuraji- I took him on my own with my parents. She built an amazing foundation and set me up for success.
3.) If someone were to describe you, what would they say about you?
They would say that I am strong competitor and someone who loves their horses. If something happens in the arena I am the first to find out what I did wrong, I never blame my horse.
4.) Name one show ring quirk you have:
If you watch me in Reining, you will see me look and point left then right before I begin my circles or spins. I am reconfirming that I remember my directions.
