1.) Describe your involvement in the Arabian horse breed as a volunteer, and what your accomplishments are:
I have been breeding Arabian horses for the past 11 years. My husband and I sponsor many classes throughout the show year as well as participate in the auctions, Calcutta classes, charitable events, and youth programs. I started showing amateur halter in 2012 when I won the Champion Senior Gelding Class with my horse Tiamo. Later that year I won a Regional and a Top Ten at US Nationals. I have continued to show for the past four years all over the US and it has truly become my passion. My goal is to become more familiar and involved with different committees and charities supporting our breed.
2.) What are some of the highlights and successful moments involving the Arabian horse for you in 2015?
By far was my first US National Championship with DC Benedict. We scored a total of 380 points becoming the highest scoring gelding at the show. I also showed to a Top Ten in the Scottsdale Yearling Colt Auction Class and the Yearling Colt Signature Stallion Class. Anyone who has been to Scottsdale knows those classes are very large and full of amazingly bred horses. I won the 2 and over Gelding AAOTH class at Region 10 this year in Minnesota. The biggest highlight in 2016 is now being nominated for this award!
3.) If someone were to describe you, what would they say about you?
I think people would say that I am caring, honest, funny, giving and that I truly love the Arabian horses.
