1.) Describe your involvement in the Arabian horse breed as a volunteer, and what your accomplishments are:
I have been involved with Arabian horses since I was a little girl. My mom wanted to have a baby horse, so my dad bought a Phantom Echo daughter. From there the breeding program began. Someone has to show the babies, so its probably a good thing I fell in love with the horses as much as my parents did and love to be in the show ring! I show halter and I also ride performance as well, but if you ask me which one I like more…. Don’t tell my performance trainer, but showing halter is something I really love to do. My biggest accomplishment is winning the JOTH and JTH Arabian Gelding in Hand at the 2015 Youth Nationals. I hope to grow as an individual in the Arabian Horse community and continue to improve my skills. Being nominated for this award is also a huge accomplishment, I am so grateful to be up for this nomination with a group of great handlers! It truly is a very special feeling when people see your passion and hard work.
2.) What are some of the highlights and successful moments involving the Arabian horse for you in 2015?
My 2015 show season was a whirlwind of ribbons, roses, and memories that I will never forget. Scottsdale was one of my first big wins in the halter arena, and those classes are ones that I will never forget, it is always special when you have your friends and your family there to celebrate with! The biggest highlight of 2015 was for sure taking Valldez to Youth Nationals and gaining my first National Championships. Those classes were very special to me, and I will always cherish my first National Championships with a horse that my parents bred, we raised, and with the help of Jeff and Roxanne Schall, we were apart of him becoming something great. Winning isn’t all of it in 2015, I had good moments and I had bad moments, but I think this show season really helped me improve my handling skills, and learn a lot. I truly was blessed to have such a great year, with great people supporting me and helping me become the handler that I am now, and always pushing me to be better.
3.) If someone were to describe you, what would they say about you?
That definitely would depend on who you ask and how much food I had in my system when they were last around me! HA! I think a lot of people would agree that I am very hard working, I am an independent person, I am dedicated, kind hearted, genuine, and honest. I always try and make everyone else around me happy, I always want to do my best in every situation. I hate feeling like someone is disappointed, so I try my hardest to do the very best that I can.
