1.) Describe your involvement in the Arabian horse breed as a volunteer, and what your accomplishments are:
My biggest circle of friends are the people that I have met through my involvement with the Arabian horse. I started by volunteering at our local show almost 30 years ago to becoming a board member for GAHA. As time went on, I became Treasurer and then President which lead to my volunteer involvement at the Region 12 level for several years. I love the shows and I have done every job except judge! But I believe that the events that were outside of the show ring were also very special. Bringing our horses to a Girl Scout event is one that comes to mind. At that age, I would have done anything to touch a horse. I really felt the impact of being there.
2.) What are some of the highlights and successful moments involving the Arabian horse for you in 2014?
2015 was a dream show season for me! It started with the fabulous Scottsdale Show. The competition was fierce with several cuts to make it to the finals. Possesion PGA was on his game and we both loved the experience of showing outdoors. We were unanimous champions in the AAOTR class and Champions in the AATR class. What a thrill! Then on to Canadian Nationals and a Reserve Championship in the AAOTR class and a Top Ten in the AATR. Finally, on to US Nationals and an unforgettable ride resulting in a Reserve Championship in the AAOTR 36-54. It was a solid year at the biggest shows and I owe it to my fabulous horse and the best horseman I know, Rob Bick.
3.) If someone were to describe you, what would they say about you?
I would hope they would say that I’m “fun” and “loyal” and “crazy about the Arabian horse!”
